Theory: In everyday language it means idea, hunch or gut feeling. Among scientists it means a collection of facts and a framework for those facts that is well tested. A hypothesis is an educated guess based on past facts.
Racism: In everyday language it means prejudice. Among racism experts it means prejudice with power or discrimination (institutional racism).
